What exactly does that mean?
Probably different things to different people.
Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, paleo, Mediterranean or any other category you plug yourself into, it really boils down one thing –


If you are carnivorous, eating the best quality meat, produce, grains, nuts, seeds and legumes that you can afford, as often as possible, should be your goal.
If you are herbivorous, eating the best quality produce, grains, nuts, seeds and legumes that you can afford, as often as possible, should be your goal.

To begin, add these foods to your diet on a daily basis and limit the refined processed stuff. As you add more nutrients to your regimen, you will find that the unhealthy grub will no longer appeal to you. It has taken me a few years to get to where I am today and I am always adjusting my diet to fit the needs of my body.

“Grass fed”, “organic”, “nutrient dense”, “whole foods”, “alkaline forming”, ‘vitamins”, and “minerals”, are just a few of the concepts that should be a part of your dietary vocabulary.

In America, we are a nutritionally starved nation.
We are a melting pot of “overs” – overworked, overstressed, overstimulated, overindulged, and overwhelmed.

Hence, we are overweight.

Your body gets energy from the food you eat. The more energy the body needs to  digest, absorb, and make use of the foods you eat, the less energy you have left.

If you are an athlete and indulge in processed, refined and fast foods, then your body is using a large amount of its energy to assimilate those foods.  Athletes eating nutritionally dense foods are spending less of their energy on digestion. This leads to faster recovery time and better performance on the field/court/ice/road. The healthier athlete will outperform you each step of the way. Besides putting in your 10,000 hours of training, there is only one way to beat your competition…


Moms are always getting blamed for just about everything, aren’t we? But let’s be honest, for the most part, we are the ones responsible for much of the dietary decision making in the family. If you feed yourself and your family processed, refined and fast foods, then how will you and the other members of your family have the energy to get through the day? Are you often feeling stressed and tired? Do you suffer from brain fog? It’s a vicious cycle. The less nutritionally dense foods you eat, the less energy you have to prepare the foods that provide you the pep you need to get through the day, (I was guilty of this not so long ago).  And what are you projecting onto your children, the most important people for whom you are able to make an impression upon? Do they naturally gravitate towards…


Oh seniors, how I love you. But do you really believe it is okay to be of the mindset that because you are a certain age you can eat whatever you want?  The golden years, I often hear, are not so golden. I see the results of that every day and it is a sad picture. It’s one of heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, dementia, cancer, walkers and canes, pills..and more pills.
But there is an opportunity to prevent or reverse these diseases from the results of…


Here are some results, should you partake in clean eating:

–  lower body fat
–  better quality sleep
–  more energy, no more need for stimulants (sorry Red Bull, you’re out)
–  lower craving for junk food (this takes time)
–  better ability to build lean muscle mass
–  stronger bones
–  better skin (drink your water!)
–  lower cholesterol
–  better mental clarity
–  no calorie counting
–  no obsession over the amount of protein, carbs or fat intake
–  better ability to handle stress
–  more confidence
